Current status of product operation

Zinc oxide is a mineral compound with the chemical formula ZnO, which is in the form of white powder and insoluble in water, zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO) have a diameter of less than 100 nm. The physical and chemical properties of zinc oxide nanoparticles depend on their different synthesis methods.

Some of the possible ways to produce zinc oxide nanoparticles are: laser ablation, hydrothermal methods, electrochemical depositions, sol-gel method, chemical vapor deposition, thermal decomposition, combustion methods, ultrasound, microwave-assisted combustion method, etc.

The most common use of zinc oxide nanoparticles is in sunscreen. They effectively absorb UV light, but have a large band gap to be completely transparent to visible light.

They are also used to kill harmful microorganisms in packaging and in UV protective materials such as textiles. This material is widely used in a wide range of different industries, including an additive in rubber and plastic production industries.

There is zinc oxide naturally as a mineral, but most of the zinc used worldwide is produced synthetically.
